Criminal IP, an OSINT-based search engine created by cyber threat intelligence (CTI) South-Korean company AI Spera, announced the launch of a new fraud-detection WordPress plugin integrated with real-time intelligence data.
Criminal IP FDS (Fraud Detection System) detects and blocks malicious IP addresses attempting to access WordPress sites, Criminal IP said.
According to the company, hackers frequently gain access to important company servers or steal private information by attempting brute-force attacks on individual or corporate sites and to avoid tracking, it is common to bypass the IP address through VPNs, Proxy IPs, or to use unusual IP addresses through a Tor browser or hosting IP address.
The plugin is powered by Criminal IP’s threat intelligence technology, which collects and analyzes the latest data on IP addresses from around the world, and is able to determine whether an IP address accessing a WordPress site is malicious.
In April, Criminal IP announced the launch of its service after a year of beta testing. Read more about this here.
AI Spera was founded in 2017 at the Hacking Response Research Center, Korea University, and provides an OSINT-based CTI from a hacker’s perspective by developing the latest AI-driven security technologies. Its co-founder Huy Kang Kim, a former member and the last leader of KUS (KAIST UNIX Society) hacking group in South Korea, was the first hacker turned professor in Korea, according to a description by the University of Queensland and to the company’s website.
