Chapsvision buys Owlint

ChapsVision, a specialist in the sovereign data processing, has acquired Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) startup Owlint which specializes in web data collection and analysis digital footprints and cyber risks identification.

The acquisition of Owlint is an important milestone in ChapsVision’s drive to consolidate this market, in order to create a credible, international player capable of reassuring its customers and becoming their valued partner in the use of these sensitive technologies, the company said.

Over the past two years, the group has gradually enhanced its portfolio of solutions with economic and strategic intelligence solutions such as AMI EI, Qwam and Geotrend. Owlint, with its expertise in targeted OSINT, will complement these capabilities and integrate naturally with ChapsVision’s Argonos platform for processing massive, heterogeneous data, to serve use cases for both companies (B2B / Business to Business) and government services (B2G / Business to Government).

“From our first collaboration on projects for the banking and insurance sector, our technological synergies were obvious. I quickly invited them to join us, to help create a European leader in this field,” Olivier Dellenbach, CEO & Founder of ChapsVision said.

“Olivier’s vision and determination to make it a reality motivated us to join this major project, which shares our deep commitment to preserving European data sovereignty,” adds Marc Rénier, Co-founder and COO of Owlint.

Based in Suresnes, Ile-de-France, ChapsVision was established in 2019. Through major R&D investments in massive data processing, complemented by a sustained strategy of acquisitions and international expansion, ChapsVision has built up a coherent group comprising two branches addressing sectors with a high data footprint: one dedicated to customer engagement with enterprises, and the other offering sovereign solutions dedicated to cyber intelligence and cybersecurity for the defense, intelligence and security markets.

ChapsVision has nearly 600 employees, 600 key account customers, and is targeting sales of €180 million in 2023.

Established in 2018 in France by three OSINT enthusiasts, Owlint is specialized in collecting and processing of digital footprints on the three layers of the Web. Owlint’s products are used by both governments and companies from consulting, defense, luxury goods, retail, energy.
